The Nekaneet Health Clinic is located on the Nekaneet First Nation. It employs many administering various health programs such as community health nursing, community health, home and community care, nutrition, medical transportation and other medical services.
The community health nurse provides care to promote the health of individuals across the life span; to families and groups. The nurse works in collaboration with the client, clients, family, elders, Chief & Council, Health committee, community groups and other health care professionals programs include pre & post-natal counselling/education, infant care, immunizations from birth to school age, immunizations for adults communicable disease issues include sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis program, etc. we are currently offering flu shots for age 6 months and up. Chronic disease program includes management of conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure; asthma etc. The clinic staff works together to assess the need of the community, so we like to hear your concerns. I am at the clinic usually Wednesdays and Thursdays. We abide by the needs of confidentiality.
